EU plans new regulations on phone records

The EU is expected to introduce new legislation in September that requires mobile phone and fixed-line companies to store call data for 12 months. The law is being changed following increased concerns about security and terrorist activity.

20th Century Fox is using Bluetooth technology to advertise in three American cinemas. The experiment is part of a deal to sell ringtones, pictures and ringtones.

Mobile phone base stations can fly

A new commercial agreement could see giant airships known as "stratellites" carrying mobile phone and data traffic in the future. The stratellites would fly at an altitude of around 13 miles (65,000 feet), offering the type of two-way data traffic that higher-flying satellites are unable to provide.
