Ofcom publishes in-flight mobile guide

Telecomms regulator Ofcom has published a summary of views about mobile phone use on aircraft. It concludes that most people are in favour, although the CAA will need to make final decisions about aircraft safety and security.

Telephia revises mobile TV documents

Telephia, the company that had its UK mobile TV research questioned recently, has issued a statement to clarify its methodology. It says respondents were asked "to recall any type of video content viewed on their mobile phones irrespective of delivery format... video clip downloads, video streaming applications and video served from WAP sites."

Poppies on phones

The Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal has added a text message reminder to its downloadable 'Poppy' image for Armistice Day. Any UK mobile phone user who texts POPPY to 85099 will be able to download a Poppy image in return for a donation of £1.50. A text reminder for the two-minute silence at 11am on 11th November will be sent on the day before.
