The Ministry of Sound's recent Goldie Lookin' Chain gig was the world's first event with end-to-end mobile ticketing. Customers sent a text message to buy their tickets and then received their tickets as a text on their phone.

Apple iPhone patent revealed

A patent for what appears to be Apple's long-awaited combination of iPod and mobile phone has been published. The patent for the device, referred to as a "portable computing device capable of wireless communications", was filed in August and has just been made public.

X-Series pricing revealed

X-Series from 3, the new flat-rate mobile broadband service, has revealed its pricing to start at £5 per month plus a standard tariff. With current special offers, this means that customers can pay £20 for the first six months, rising to £35 monthly for the next 12 months.
