Nokia launches music service

Nokia's online music service, which was announced at the end of August, became available to UK customers today (1st November). It lets users download music to their PC or directly to their compatible mobile phone, with individual tracks costing 80p each and albums costing from £8.00. [Nokia press release]

Website says UK drivers ignoring hands-free law

Campaigning web site BetterDrivingPlease.com says almost a quarter of all reports it receives involve drivers with a mobile phone. Members of the public have reported 1,119 drivers using a hand-held mobile since February this year. 20 million Mobile TV watchers worldwide

There are almost 20 million people watching TV on their mobile phones around the world - and the figure will jump to 2 billion by 2013, according to consultancy Telecom Trends International. The report says DVB-H is emerging as the preferred global standard for mobile TV.

Carphone Warehouse set to sell 10,000 iPhones on day 1

O2 says iPhone unlimited data really is unlimited (sort of)

The Daily Telegraph reports that O2 has decided to offer genuinely unlimited data when the Apple iPhone is released on Friday. It says the company has decided against its proposed 200MB 'fair use' limit, although the unlimited deal doesn't include business use or using the phone as a modem.
