Developers will soon be able to create authorised programs for the Apple iPhone. CEO Steve Jobs has said he plans to have a developers' software development kit available for February. Meanwhile, Apple has confirmed its distribution deal with Orange in France. French law insists that the phone will also be available 'unlocked' - although there's no obligation to charge the same price as a locked version.
