Mobile music downloads up 33% in Japan

Mobile phones are still the preferred medium for downloading music in Japan, according to a report by Billboard. 344.1 million mobile music downloads took place in 2006, compared with only 23 million PC-based downloads. That's despite a 172% increase in PC downloads (and 'just' a 33% increase in mobile downloads). The figures include ringtones, singles and albums.
